Position Title: Senior Executive

Reports To: Area Business Manager

Employment Status: Full-Time

Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh (Frequent travel outside Dhaka required).

Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in sales and marketing, preferably in MNCs


Education
:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Mechanical Engineering background will be additional advantage

Job Context

The Senior Executive, Sales position responsible for supporting the sales and marketing efforts in the assigned territory. This role focuses on driving sales growth, maintaining strong relationships with retailers and distributors, and ensuring the effective execution of trade marketing activities to promote the company’s products.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES

 

Driving Sales and Supporting Growth

 

·    Assist in achieving monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets for the assigned region.

·    Implement local sales strategies under the guidance of the Area Business Manager to boost sales and market share.

·     Identify and develop new business opportunities within the territory by engaging with retailers and distributors.

Trade Marketing and Brand Visibility

·     Execute trade marketing initiatives to enhance company’s brand presence at retail outlets.

·    Ensure proper merchandising, signage, and visibility of products in stores to attract customer attention.

·    Support in organizing promotional campaigns and activities to drive sales growth.

 

Building and Maintaining Relationships

 

·    Visit retailers and distributors regularly to maintain strong business relationships and address their concerns.

·    Provide retailers with information about new products, promotions, and offers.

·    Act as a point of contact for retailers to ensure smooth communication between them and the company.

 

Market Visits and Competitor Analysis

·    Conduct frequent market visits to monitor the sales performance and collect feedback from retailers.

·    Observe competitor activities, including pricing, promotions, and product availability, to provide insights to the management team.

·    Use insights gathered from the field to suggest improvements in sales strategies.

 

Inventory and Supply Coordination

 

·    Ensure timely availability of company’s products at retail outlets by coordinating with distributors.

·    Monitor inventory levels at retail and distributor points to avoid stock shortages or overstocking.

Reporting and Documentation

·   Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and market observations.

·   Assist in maintaining detailed records of sales transactions, retailer interactions, and promotional activities.

·   Share timely updates and feedback with the Area Business Manager for strategic planning.


MAJOR CHALLENGES

  • Achieving ambitious sales targets in a competitive market with fluctuating demand.
  • Balancing frequent travel to areas outside Dhaka with effective time and territory management.
  • Building trust and loyalty among retailers, especially in regions dominated by competitors.
  • Coordinating with distributors to avoid stock outs or overstocking in retail outlets.
  • Standing out in a competitive market with strong local and international players.
  • Operating within the constraints of senior management’s directives and limited authority to make independent decisions.
  • Adapting to the diverse needs and behaviors of customers and retailers across different regions.


KEY DECISIONS

  • Adjust sales tactics and approaches for individual retailers or markets to meet targets more effectively.
  • Decide on the frequency and method of engagement with retailers, such as personal visits, phone calls, or promotional meetings.
  • Identify competitor activities and recommend immediate counter-actions.
  • Strengthen retailer and distributor relationships through regular engagement


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE   

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Mechanical Engineering background will be additional advantage


Experience Requirements:

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in sales and marketing, preferably in MNCs
