Job Summary
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for executing and managing banking operations related to international trade, including L/C handling, payment settlements, compliance, and documentation. The role ensures accurate processing of export and import transactions, timely reconciliation, and compliance with financial regulations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring smooth commercial operations and maintaining strong relationships with banking and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

Collect and monitor monthly liabilities statements from banks; maintain updated charts and coordinate with internal teams; handle lien documentation for export LCs |

Efficient handling of import banking transactions |
Open import LCs, maintain records by L/C code, manage shipping guarantees, process document endorsements, and ensure payment settlements with negotiation banks |

Ensure financial reporting and compliance |
Maintain records of Sales Contracts, Master LCs; ensure packing credit (PC) and BTB LC arrangements based on proforma invoices and contract terms |
|
Proactive issue resolution |
Track overdue, delayed, or canceled transactions; communicate with management and resolve discrepancies to ensure smooth operation |
Requirements & Qualifications:
Educational Qualifications:
- Graduate, preferably in Business, Finance, or a related discipline
Relevant Experience:
- 5–8 years of experience in commercial, preferably in RMG sector
Major Challenges:
- Managing high transaction volumes while ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Coordinating with banks, internal teams, and external parties under tight timelines
- Keeping up with frequent changes in banking procedures, customs, VAT, and excise laws
Skills and Competencies:
Technical: Strong knowledge of export/import documentation, LC operations, shipping procedures, VAT, excise, and compliance
Core Competencies: Commercial operations, banking coordination, documentation accuracy, compliance, stakeholder engagement
Personal Characteristics: Detail-oriented, organized, deadline-driven, capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Key Decisions:
- Prioritizing and escalating issues in banking transactions
- Suggesting amendments or corrections in L/C clauses
- Improving documentation processes and ensuring timely reconciliations
The incumbent will be responsible for performing any other tasks as assigned by management.
